Ahoy! Pirates! It is that time of year again where we all dress up in a piratey attire and say "Arrrr!" Wait, no dressing up? You mean I cannot go to work like this?! Walk the plank, ye scallywag! 

Welcome to the Talk Like a Pirate contests for the Petnome Project! This year we have some goodies for you! Here is how you can win them!

If you've been playing the game recently you know that the Tower of Moo Manchu was recently released and that sinister sorcerer, Moo Manchu, issued a challenge to us pirates preying on our weakness for sweet loot and a challenge! That evil beef! Into the tower we went and on the 8th floor the unspeakable happened! We betrayed our own crew as we fell victim to the enticing Manchurian Elixir! Our allies won the battle but they had to throw us in the brig until the potion wears off...and this is your contest:

 You're in the brig...

Create a Original Pirate shanty about your Nefarious deeds in the tower! Tell us why you betrayed your crew. Was it for the gold? The sweet loot? Did Moo Manchu's promise of power weaken your resolve? Make it as fun or as serious as you'd like but make sure it's done in a Pirate Talk style.

Don't know what a shanty is? Check out this page Here. It explains what a shanty is and below is an example;

Some historians maintain that authentic sea shanty (or shantie, chanty, chantie) is a single line, spontaneously made up and sung, followed by a chorus like the following:

‘Blow a man down is a blow me down trick.
Blow – Blow – Blow – a man Down.
Blow a man down to the home of old Nick.
Give me some time to blow a man down.’

The Rules:

Must be an original shanty you created. Do not use previously made shanties from stories, tv, film, history etc. Tweaking made shanties to fit the theme also will not count. 

Must be done in the style of a shanty. Click the link if you do not know what one is. Link.

Must be done in piratey tone/talk, it is Talk like a Pirate day after all. Here is a link to a translator if you need help. Link.

One entry per person. Do not send in multiple entries.

Shanty must be child friendly with no foul language whatsoever.

Make sure you send your pirate's name with your entry so we can know who you are. My pirate for example is Brave Sam Laveer.

Be patient during the course of the contest. Any harassment or bad behavior to the Petnome staff and other participants is a fast way to get disqualified.

Never send your account username or password. We will never ask for that information.

A shanty about why you betrayed your crew and became Nefarious in the Tower of Moo Manchu.

Contest starts September 19th, 2014 and will end on September 26th, 2014 at 12:00 PM (Noon) Central Standard time
