-Earnest Agnes Eastwick: Happy third birthday Baby Patch! Some gifts are mine but others can not tell you who they are.

CHAPTER 2 WALKING TOWARD THE BAZAR FOR A SURPRISE.

-Baby Patch: Why are you bringing me to the bazaar?

-Earnest Agnes Eastwick: For a surprise that I forgot to buy for your birthday. You must stay out here so you do not see it. Then they will give it to me wrapped and you will not be able to see it until I tell you.

-Baby Patch: What do we do on the beach?

-Earnest Agnes Eastwick: Relax and enjoy. Among the things that I have bought you there is a float and a beach ball. It's okay because we stopped for a while on the way to the boat that I should teach you something there.

-Baby Patch: Okay, although you have me very intrigued. Speaking of the sea, look at that view. They are beautiful.

-Earnest Agnes Eastwick: Wow, it's great. Although we do not have much time for one thing. We must go to the ship already.

-Baby Patch: But where are we late?

CHAPTER 4: BABY PATCH BLOWS THE CANDLE OF THE CAKE.

-Baby Patch: What a great cake Thanks, Earnest. I'm going to make a wish and blow it now. I see that you are in a hurry and you do not leave me or take a nap in the hammock that way.

Well, we are running but I warn you that this is not a decent birthday. Fuuuuu ........

-Earnest Agnes Eastwick: Happy 3rd Birthday! You are my best friend since you arrived at Christmas 3 years ago. You were just a baby. Wonderful memories

-Baby Patch:  You are also my best human friend and I want to continue fulfilling more years by your side. But come let's go wherever we have to go.

THE END.

I'm a sheltered glowfish. Apparently I was born in that grandiose stadium off the coast of Skull Island -- pretty cool if you ask me, except that my forty-some friends were also mysteriously conceived there -- but since then I've been stuck on this little estate, spending my days eating countless variations on bananas and playing with the same toys at the same waterfall. It's idyllic and safe and all, yada yada, but what I really want to do is fight, to perfect the soul by steeling the body against evil for the collective good of Pirate and Pet-kind! (And maybe rock out to some Purple Haze while I'm at it...)

In the midst of my half-asleep pondering, my hooman, as if telepathic, appeared before my eyes and said "If you want to get a taste of real fighting that badly, we're leaving on the skiff for Cool Ranch in 20 minutes." My heart full, I quickly ate a breakfast of stir-fried banana, warmed up by somersaulting a few times and then boarded the ship, where I was welcomed by familiar faces like Bonnie and Old Bart (they stop by to refuel, tell amazing stories and "finally eat some decent home-cooked food" all the time) -- and some unfamiliar ones (why is there a weasel who's dressed like he's about to win a game of poker in Las Fegas? Maybe I'll ask him about it later...)

After some pre-sailing tumult with crew members darting all over the ship, we took off into the skyways. My goodness! The vast expanse of sky, the pristine green coastlines, the salty breeze hitting my face, the rather pungent smell of the deck, the pirates breaking open a keg of Yum behind me -- it was all just as I had imagined!

We had just entered a whirlwind of sorts and popped out into a surreal starry space when some feathered snakes suddenly rushed onto the ship. They started to go for the Yum laying around, but my hooman would have none of it; she took out some strange-looking knives and confronted the snakes. A few other crew members joined in as I was frozen with fear, paling at the thought of harming a fellow creature of the world, however uncouth they may be. Unwittingly, as a snake lunged past me to strike my hooman, I activated my defensive hypnotic powers and charmed the rascal, but the fight wasn't over yet.

More and more snakes kept coming, and while my hooman was quite skilled at rendering them unconscious, she was looking the worse for wear herself. I had retreated to the sidelines, too scared to head back into the fray, when the gravity of the situation hit me: my hooman and her crew need my help! Isn't this what I've been dreaming of all my life? Recklessly charging forward, I knocked out a snake with a single headbutt, and I could hear whoops of approval from the others as they fought nearby.

Though my hooman's crew was pretty badly injured and a few of the snakes got away with our supplies, eventually all the remaining snakes fled, and we proceeded through another whirlwind into a land of towering rocks and a perpetually pink sky. I was proud of my first real battle, but I was also shaken, unable to savor the peaceful landscape. As she tended to my bruises and scratches, my hooman, as if telepathic yet again, said: "Fighting isn't fun for anybody, Rocco. And sometimes it's hard to tell who's right or wrong -- those snakes just wanted food to eat, to the point they would steal to get it -- but as a crew, we have to protect our own health first. You did well."

I soon recovered my old spirits. Maybe fighting wasn't the romantic ideal I made it out to be, but it sure felt good to have defended my those who care about me. We then docked and proceeded into a giant canyon; I heard my hooman announce to the crew: "Today we're gonna help Rooster Cogburn take down Jack Wilson, a mercenary assassin who works for, I quote, 'the wickedest bosses in these here skies.' Froggo and Sarah, stay hidden and flank Jack's cronies while Fan and I distract Jack himself from the front; the rest of you, guard the cave entrance. It's go time!"

It's no secret that I glow and am probably not suited to stealth roles, but this was finally my chance to deal some true justice. What kind of terrible life must this Jack lead, killing the innocent for monetary gain? I begged my hooman to join the frontal attack party, and she capitulated on the grounds that I remain behind her as we enter the cave. My heart was pounding as we creeped into the dimly lit mustiness; there was a vent spewing noxious gas and crates upon crates of who-knows-what-shady-business. Jack et al., karma is coming for you!

The fight was short but intense. My glow gave our party away as soon as we emerged into the open cavern, but Froggo and Sarah were already positioned for sneak attacks, efficiently dispatching with two riflemen near the back. I dashed back and forth in a frenzy, taking cover from Jack's barrage of shots behind scattered crates and barrels. My hooman got in close enough range to land some heavy hits, and while Jack was still reeling in pain and surprise, I lunged forward to deal the finishing blow.

A dazed Jack was dropped off at Cooper's Roost sheriff's office, our bounty was pocketed, and the journey back went by like a dream. All (well, er, most) of the crew members praised me for my bravery, and I was somersaulting with joy the whole time. At home, the crew prepared an outdoors feast to celebrate the victory, complete with banana soup, banana stew, banana salad, banana gumbo, banana sandwich, banana kabobs and more. I've realized that while the grittier aspects of the pirate's life may not be for me, it's a wonderful thing to go out and explore the world with your friends -- and I've got a lot of more exploring to do.

"There you are Prince Peanut! I see you've gotten in your morning swim!"

I love swimming! Especially in the clear blue waters of our Emperor's Villa.

I wonder what fun adventure my pirate will take me on today!

We hopped on the ship and set sail towards Aquila!

I love looking at all the cool things in the skyways. This rock eagle mountain is so fascinating!

I was distracted and we were attacked by harpies! I jumped in to help my pirate get them off our ship!

We got away from the harpies safely, but what's that thing! It's blocking our path! But luckily my pirate has great cannons to take it down so we can get to Ithaca!

In the middle of us taking down the Scylla heads, these Scylla crawlies washed on board and attacked us! My pirate and I are great buccaneers and we kicked them off and finished the Scylla heads so we could get through!

We were finally able to make it to Ithaca. We met up with our friend Ulysses to find out that his home has been taken over! My pirate and I rushed to help him.

When we got in Ulysses' house, we had to fight our way to his throne! I wanted to help but I couldn't help but stare at that juicy turkey they had roasting!

After I sneakily snacked on the savory turkey, I caught up to my pirate fighting Antinous! We knocked him down and Ulysses took back his throne! As a reward we were given the Rosetta Stone! Hopefully this artifact can help us in our Quest against Kane!

I was so tired after our adventures in Aquila, my pirate took me into the ship's cabin and put me to sleep. My brothers Prince Chase and Sir Lola helped me get into our pet house and they let me sleep. I can't wait to see what fun adventure my pirate has in store for us tomorrow!

It's Arrrrgust, which means Petnome Pirates turns 5!

Ever wonder what your pet is thinking? Well this is your chance to make a guess at what they might say as your pet travels alongside you through the Spiral! For this contest, put together a 5-10 image photo essay telling the story of one day spent with your pirate, told from the perspective of your pet.

The Details:

Step 1 - Take 5-10 unedited screenshots (no drawings/illustrations, please!) from the game of you and your pet spending time together. You could be battling baddies, decorating a house together, camping at the bazaar, etc.. The pictures should come together to form a complete narrative (i.e. you should be able to tell a story with a beginning, middle and end using the pictures). The story’s topic may be anything from a laid-back day of relaxing to an adventure to save the entire spiral. Be sure your pet is a significant part of the story. This will be the “photo” portion of the “photo essay.”

Step 2 - Caption each picture with 1-5 sentences describing what’s going on in the picture. Be sure to write in the first person, from the pet’s perspective. This will be the “essay” portion of the “photo essay.”

Other Important Details:

1. Keep the story and the pictures G-rated. Essays will be judged on creativity and storytelling abilities.

2. Submissions are open from now until August 31st.

3. Email your entries to Pirate101Petnome@outlook.com. Please attach all pictures, labeling them to indicate which order they should go in. In the body of the email, write out each caption and indicate which caption goes with which picture.
